Guest Experience: The Culture of Greetings

This course explores the dynamic world of body language and nonverbal communication, helping participants build confidence, cultural awareness, and emotional intelligence in guest-facing and team-based environments. From posture and gestures to greetings and global etiquette, learners will discover how to communicate more clearly and respectfully across a variety of backgrounds.

Whether welcoming someone from around the corner or around the world, this course helps learners understand what their body may be saying and how to use it intentionally to create connection, trust, and belonging.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Recognize key components of body language (facial expressions, gestures, posture, proximity, tone)
2. Interpret global greetings and cultural variations with sensitivity and curiosity
3. Apply inclusive nonverbal communication strategies to guest and team interactions
4. Adjust posture, proximity, and vocal tone to convey warmth, engagement, and respect
5. Use best practices for accessibility, approachability, and emotional presence
6. Reflect on personal habits and make thoughtful shifts in body language
7. Understand how gestures and greetings may be misinterpreted across cultures
