Course Description
Introduction to Inclusion is an engaging foundational course designed to build awareness, support, and respect for individuals of all abilities. Learners explore key concepts such as developmental disabilities, empathy, inclusion in action, and the important role of service animals in supporting independence and participation. Through real-world examples and practical strategies, this course helps participants develop the knowledge and skills needed to foster inclusive, welcoming environments in everyday interactions and communities.

Course Objectives
- Recognize the difference between Person First and Identity First language
- Describe ways to assist an overstimulated individual
- Explain the different categories of animal assistants and which are legally protected
- Identify ways to best assist individuals with physical disabilities
- Demonstrate respectful terms and etiquette when assisting individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities
