$100.00

Session Description

At some point in time, everyone enters a “leadership stage,” or they are required to “take the stage” as a leader. This session provides concepts, tips, and tricks for those moments in your career, especially in the attractions industry. The content comes from over 30 years of experience in theme parks, zoos, aquariums, and museums.
This session is beneficial for leaders with little performing arts experience by offering strategies to appear more confident and communicate effectively. It also supports those with a background in the arts who want to expand into the corporate side of the industry, helping them apply their existing skills in new ways.
Topics include the importance of preparation (rehearsal), thinking on your feet (improvisation), building and maintaining a strong team (casting), presenting yourself professionally (costuming), and using technology to enhance your presence (lighting and audio). We will also explore how to identify and understand your audience to better communicate across departments.
Expect both theoretical insights and practical takeaways to help you become a stronger leader, ready to receive standing ovations from your staff, peers, and senior leadership.

Key Takeaways

– Understand the basic protocols of improvisation and how to use them to improve communication skills.
– Recognize the importance of identifying the “audience” and how to alter communication for improved understanding.
– Embrace the power of building and maintaining strong teams.
